It's been quite a while since I gave an update on my hops. They've done much better this year compared to year one. They really jumped up in June, stalled out in July a little bit, and now are beginning to flower at the very beginning of August. The Magnum and the Nugget are beginning to flower and the Mt. Hood is lagging behind a bit. The Magnum looks a little thin, but the buds look amazing. Can't wait to harvest in a month or so!
Here are a few pictures.
yep. my 1st year chinook look about the same, only not quite as many buds as in your pic.
ReplyDeletei'm also glad to see i'm not the only one with bits missing from my leaves and some browning.
Mine are also looking about the same. My Cascades and my Magnum are really strong for first year bines, the Willamette and Northern brewers are a lot smaller, but the Willamette is budding, I have no hope for buds on the Brewers though as I had so much trouble getting it to grow!
ReplyDeleteLook at you and your fancy new blog template. Hops are looking good! I want to see them take over the back yard.
ReplyDeleteUmm...I think ur blog takes the cake in the "fancy" category. I have no idea how you did all that cool stuff. very impressive.
